After Jam Thoughts and Changes
Path Defender: Loops » Devlog
A few weeks post-jam and after a few rounds of playing, I’ve added two minor changes with quite some major outcome:
-
Color the white fraction pink, so the contrast is way better and it’s way more easy to see which units are on your side.
-
Balancing the collectors: instead of a mulitplier of 100 for each round, it now settles at 30. This allows the game to grow a bit easier in the beginning of each round.
More to come
I thought about some additional changes that may improve the quality of the gameplay:
- A (even) bit more of balancing regarding the point and damage system for a(n even) slower start into the game. I think this needs some play-testing with the current version.
- A new unit: Defender. Those units will walk to a center target and will stay there, defending the target lane (and therefore the collectors). This could be a simple unit with a big strategical outcome.
- Conquerable targets (maybe they get a color and earn money while you hold them).
We’ll see what time brings, this will be a fun, little side project. If you have any thoughts on it, just drop them below.
